Registered Dental Hygienist
Meja Yang is a Registered Dental Hygienist. She was born and raised in South Korea, where she received her Diploma of Dental Hygiene in 1994. She immigrated to Canada 12 years ago arriving in Montreal where she pursued the RDH designation and obtained her Diploma in 2004. In 2005 she moved to Vancouver, making her home in Burnaby and immediately beginning her practise here.
Meja is the consummate professional. She loves her work and finds joy in treating and advising her patients on dental services, treatment and their own dental health. She acts as a voice on behalf of patients when they are discussing treatment with the dentists and is always looking for opportunities to help her patients better understand the importance of oral health in preventing disease.
Outside the clinic, Meja has worked for several years as a volunteer with community service organizations and her church working with people with a disability and other special needs to improve the quality of their social life. She has also volunteered in helping first nation families in British Columbia. Volunteering is an important part of her life and reinforces her belief in social equality and human rights.
Meja is a fan of hot Yoga and uses it to wind down after work. She loves hiking and mountain climbing and quite times just enjoying nature. She is a reader and student of history and she wants to devote some time to improving her French as she plans an extended holiday Europe in the coming years.
