Registered Dental Hygienist
Suji Kang was born in Jeju Island, Korea. She was in her early teens when her family immigrated to Vancouver in 2004. She received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from UBC in 2014 and began practising as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Her passion for dentistry was inspired by her family who values the importance of dental care. Her younger brother is also a Dental Hygienist practicing in Vancouver.
As a Registered Dental Hygienist, Suji’s work is primarily focusing on preventative services and patient education. She focuses on helping patients learn how they can improve their daily hygiene routines. She extends this to volunteer work with low-income families in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver where she performs dental hygiene and educational talks to a population who faces real challenges in accessing dental care and treatment.
In her free time, Suji loves to watch movies, particularly thrillers and science fiction or stories that challenge her thinking about the world around us. While movies help Suji relax, she also enjoys the experience of seeking and tasting food. She lives in Downtown Vancouver and finds it truly enjoyable walking around the downtown on sunny days with her friends exploring the city’s culinary diversity with her friends. Each year Suji saves up and plans a trip to a foreign country. In recent years she has visited Australia, Thailand, China and New Zealand. She looks forward to exploring many more countries in the near future.
